DESCRIPTION
HOMELESS JESUS is a bronze sculpture designed by Timothy Schmalz, a Canadian sculptor, depicting Jesus as a homeless person, sleeping on a park bench. His face and hands are obscured, shrouded in a blanket. The only indication revealing Jesus' identity are the crucifixion wounds on his feet. The statue is a visual representation of Matthew 25 (v. 40) in which Jesus tells his disciples, "as you did it to one of the least of my brothers, you did it to me".
